Radio report: “Here at Frankfurter Vermögen, we’ve significantly reduced our equity allocations.”
Börsenradio | Uwe Eilers (Frankfurter Vermögen) discusses debt, interest rates, and inflation, the U.S. midterms, and a significantly reduced equity allocation. Whether stocks or bonds: For Mr. Eilers, it is more important than ever to carefully weigh the opportunities and risks. Rising government debt, high interest rates, and inflation are affecting both asset classes. When it comes to bonds, therefore, yield isn’t the only factor that matters. The real yield, the issuer’s creditworthiness, and potential currency risks are particularly crucial. On the equity side, Mr. Eilers sees highly valued technology stocks in particular under pressure, as high interest rates raise the question of whether investors are still willing to pay correspondingly high prices for the risks involved. Added to this are political uncertainties surrounding the upcoming U.S. midterm elections, which could cause volatility in the short term. As a result, Frankfurter Vermögen has significantly reduced its equity allocations.
